How much does Lever cost?
Lever costs about $6,000 to $63,000 a year. What changes your price is below.
Lever is hiring software that tracks job applicants. It does not publish prices. Contract data shows small teams paying about $6,000 a year after negotiation, and companies with 1,000 or more staff about $63,000. A 200 person company was quoted $19,185 and closed at $12,240, so the first quote is rarely the real price.

The first quote is a starting point
Lever's list prices carry a big margin. Contract data shows first quotes 36 to 56 percent above what buyers finally pay, with the gap widest at 500 staff and up. One counter offer is often enough to close most of that gap.
Timing helps too. Buyers report 18 to 25 percent better deals in the fourth quarter, when Lever chases year end targets. If you can wait until then, ask for the quote in October or November.
Why quotes vary so much
Lever is sold deal by deal. There is no fixed price, so the quote reflects your size, your urgency and the time of year. Two firms with the same headcount can be quoted amounts far apart. This page shows the range buyers actually report, with the source for each number.
Pricing is per year, whole contract, so the main levers in the quote are the tier you pick and the setup fee, not the headcount.
How to judge the quote in your hand
- Counter the first quote. It is often 36 to 56 percent above the final price.
- Ask for the all in number: licence, setup, training and support for year one.
- Ask what renewal looks like in year two and three, in writing.
- Get a second quote from a rival and say so on the call.
- Buy at quarter end, when reps chase targets.
- Cut seats and modules you will not use in the first 90 days.
Ways to pay less
- Buy in Q4 if you can. Deals are reported 18 to 25 percent better.
- Pay yearly if the discount is real, not just a rounding of the monthly price.
- Start on the lowest tier and upgrade when you hit a wall.
- Ask for the setup fee to be waived or split over the year.
- Check the free trial or demo before you sign anything.
Before you decide
Lever combines applicant tracking with a candidate database for keeping in touch with past applicants. If you mostly post jobs and screen inbound applicants, you may pay for tools you will not use.
Ask about headcount changes too. Because Lever prices on total company size, a hiring spree raises your bill at renewal. Ask how headcount is counted and when it is checked.
Finally, ask for setup and data moves in the first quote. They are rarely included and can add $8,000 to $33,000.
A final point: compare the total cost, not the licence. Add setup, data moves and any add ons to the yearly price, then divide by the number of hires you expect. Cost per hire is the number that tells you if the tool pays for itself.
About $6,000 to $63,000 a year after negotiation, depending on headcount. No. It charges on total company headcount. Setup of $5,000 to $25,000, data moves of $3,000 to $8,000, and add ons. No. Every quote is custom. Related jobs people check next, with the usual 2026 price.Common questions
