How we calculate this
Prices are for the United States in 2026 from published cost guides, checked September 2026. This is an estimate, not a quote.
What UKG costs
| UKG Pro, full suite | About $27 to $41 per employee a month. |
|---|---|
| UKG Pro, core HR only | About $27 to $35 per employee a month. |
| Advanced scheduling | About $6 to $13 per employee a month extra. |
| UKG Pro setup | About 40 to 70 percent of year one software. |
| UKG Ready, smaller companies | About $20 to $33 per employee a month. |
What pushes a quote up
| Headcount | You pay per employee, so a big hourly workforce means a big bill. |
|---|---|
| Modules | UKG sells modules one by one, so you can add or skip them. |
| Scheduling | Advanced workforce scheduling is the biggest add on. |
| Setup | Setup often costs $50,000 to $500,000 or more. |
| Product | UKG Ready is cheaper and suits smaller companies. |
Pro or Ready
UKG sells two products. UKG Pro is built for companies with about 350 to 10,000 employees and complex pay and scheduling rules. UKG Ready is built for smaller and mid size companies and costs less, with setup of about 20 to 40 percent of year one instead of 40 to 70 percent.
If you have a few hundred staff and simple schedules, ask for a UKG Ready quote too. Buying Pro when Ready would do is one of the easiest ways to overpay.
No price on the site, on purpose
UKG Pro leaves pricing to its reps. That lets them discount hard for a deal they want and hold firm on one they do not. It also means the only honest numbers are the ones buyers report after signing. Those reports, cross checked with analyst data, are what this page uses.
Because the bill is per employee, per month, the quote grows with every seat you add. Count the seats you will really use before the call.
How to judge the quote in your hand
- Ask for Pro and Ready quotes side by side, for the same headcount.
- Ask for the all in number: licence, setup, training and support for year one.
- Ask what renewal looks like in year two and three, in writing.
- Get a second quote from a rival and say so on the call.
- Buy at quarter end, when reps chase targets.
- Cut seats and modules you will not use in the first 90 days.
Ways to pay less
- Buy only the modules you will switch on in year one. Add the rest later.
- Pay yearly if the discount is real, not just a rounding of the monthly price.
- Start on the lowest tier and upgrade when you hit a wall.
- Ask for the setup fee to be waived or split over the year.
- Check the free trial or demo before you sign anything.
Before you decide
UKG Pro suits companies with more than about 500 employees and real scheduling complexity, such as retail, healthcare, manufacturing and logistics. Its labor forecasting and scheduling can pay for themselves there. Below that size, or without shift work, simpler HR tools often give more value for less.
Data moves are the part of setup most teams underestimate. Get a fixed scope for moving employee records, pay history and benefits before you sign.
A last tip: model the whole first year. For a 2,000 person company, year one is reported at about $1.1 million to $1.7 million once setup is included, so budget for that, not just the monthly rate.
About $27 to $41 per employee a month for the full suite. About 40 to 70 percent of the first year's software cost for Pro. Pro is for larger, more complex companies. Ready costs less and suits smaller ones. No. Every quote is custom. Related jobs people check next, with the usual 2026 price.Common questions
