Why Walmart prices differ by store
The eye doctor at a Walmart Vision Center is usually an independent optometrist who rents space in the store. That doctor sets the exam price. So two Walmart stores can charge different prices. Clark.com found $80 in Denver and $120 in Atlanta in January 2026.
The exam itself is the same kind of exam you get elsewhere. All About Vision says a Walmart exam checks your prescription and your eye health using the same methods as most routine exams.
You do not have to buy glasses there
After the exam you get your prescription. You can buy glasses at Walmart or take the prescription to any other store or website.
