Check for storage that is not in the quote
VendorBenchmark says first Rubrik quotes often leave out Cloud Vault, the storage where backups are kept. If you must keep backups for 3 to 5 years, that storage can add $50,000 to $300,000 or more. Ask for it as its own line before you compare quotes.
Also read the growth terms. Eon reports twice a year reviews of how much data you protect, which can add charges mid contract. VendorBenchmark says Rubrik discounts less than older backup vendors, and that a rival quote from Cohesity gives you the most room.

- Buy at quarter end, when reps chase targets.
- Cut seats and modules you will not use in the first 90 days.

- Pay yearly if the discount is real, not just a rounding of the monthly price.
- Start on the lowest tier and upgrade when you hit a wall.
